2009-10 Season Tryouts

Where: Portage Soccer Complex (4422 Bishop Rd)
Time: 5:30 - 8:00 pm (see below for dates/times, especially Thursday)

Fees: $240 for Premier (U13 boys only this year) or $195 for Elite and Select teams (all other teams U9 through U14) includes Fall and Spring. One time uniform purchase (~$100 from Back of the Net includes complete kit with shorts, two cool Puma jerseys, and two pair of socks) can be used in subsequent years. For high school players only playing Fall or Spring the fee is $155, and for the U8 Academy squads the fee is $25. U8 Academy players do not need the Puma uniform as a shirt is included with their fee.

Bring:

  • Parent to fill out on-line registration form prior to participation. After submitting, PRINT OUT FORM, SIGN, and BRING TO TRYOUTS with items below (note: if your web browser isn't compatible with the on-line form, you can still print out a blank form (click here) and fill it out by hand).
  • Copy of the player's birth certificate unless you played for PSC this past season
  • Small recent picture (1.5" x 1.5") of player's face
  • Please wear a white t-shirt (no PSC, TKO, ODP, etc. soccer jerseys)
  • Shin guards, water, and a ball
  • Note- the first 300 youth to arrive at tryouts will receive a free numbered t-shirt to wear and keep.

Guidelines:

  • Players are expected to participate in both nights of their age group tryout
  • Players who can not make the scheduled tryout times should contact the coach for the team BEFORE the tryout date to arrange a supplemental try out.
  • Parents will not be allowed at the fields during the tryouts. After registering the player all parents must return to the parking lot or concession stand area until the conclusion of the tryout. Some parental involvement may be required to collect data; however parents may not volunteer for the age group that includes their child.
  • Children may try out at an advanced age group only if they meet the criteria as set forth in the Club's policy which can be found on this web site.
  • Other important information is also available on the policy page, including notification of results after tryouts. It is very important that you enter the parent/contact phone number and email address on the on-line registration form you fill out. If you're going to be out of town after tryouts, leave alternate contact info on a written note attached to the copy of your registration form you bring to tryouts.

TRYOUT DATES: Check-in at 5:30 p.m. Tryouts begin at 6:00 p.m. (except Thurs)
Monday June 15: Premier (U13 boys only this year*)
Tuesday June 16: All boys Select and Elite teams (except U18 Brown)
Wednesday June 17: All girls Select and Elite teams
Thursday June 18: boys 5:30 - 6:30; girls 7:00 - 8:00 p.m.

*U13 boys who don't make the Premier team Monday are strongly encouraged to try out for the U13 Select team Tuesday.
U18 and U19 boys don't need to try out in June, but should turn in paperwork and notify John McKenzie of their interest.
