As a special service to its players and families, the Portage Soccer Club is the first soccer club in the state of Michigan to commit to offering baseline concussion testing. Beginning with the Fall 2016 season, all players will receive a baseline test through ImPACT, which provides an important starting point for doctors after a potential concussion-causing impact has occurred.
ImPACT's test is computerized and takes about 25 minutes to complete. If a concussion is suspected at any time during the season, the baseline report will serve as a comparison to a repeat ImPACT test, which professionals can use to assess potential changes or damage caused by a concussion and the method of follow up treatment they will follow.
PSC is proud to use its resources to fund such an important service to its players.
