Many years ago, Upjohn allowed usage of the land on the corner of Cox's Drive and Zylman for local soccer and baseball organizations. After these complexes closed, the land was used by construction companies to store supplies and equipment. As a result, the area was littered with asphalt, stone and gravel. All of this had to be cleaned up prior to seeding and use. Thanks to all the volunteers for all the hours they committed to this project. Once the area had been cleared, the grounds crew installed fencing around the West and South sides of the complex.
Additionally, since the goal mounts get the most wear and tear we are periodically realign the layout of the fields. Some of the original nets that were at the complex had been anchored with deep concrete anchors. These anchors had to be dug up and removed with tractors due to the size and weight. As facility work at the game complex is completed, top soil is brought over and used to even out the fields at the practice complex.
In 2013, we added small sided fields with grids to the Southeast area of the facility. Then in 2014, we began installing two small sided fields with hopes of having them ready for 2016.
